My latest single and music video “Erey” (Eritrea) was released in early February 2025. It is now available on all major music digital platforms and video streaming services. You can find the music video on my YouTube Official Artist channel through the link provided below.
The inspiration for this song comes from a deep love and longing for Eritrea, embodying a strong emotional connection to the homeland and portraying the sacrifices made by its people and their unwavering belief in a brighter future.
Faytinga’s Erey captures the essence of Eritrea’s journey—one marked by struggle, but also by unbreakable hope and love for the nation. It reflects a longing for justice, freedom, and the return of prosperity, painting a vision of Eritrea rising from hardship to a future of democracy and unity.
The lyrics reflect the burden of suffering, the struggle for justice, and the sacrifices made by those who refuse to betray their dignity and remain resilient. It is both a lament for past and present struggles and a hopeful anthem for a brighter tomorrow. The refrain, filled with passion and conviction, expresses unwavering faith that Eritrea will rise again, free from tyranny and division, where law and order prevail.
Ultimately, Erey is a tribute to the Eritrean spirit—unyielding, hopeful, and forever yearning for peace and justice. Through vivid imagery of dawn breaking, farmers tilling the land, and traders moving freely, the song envisions a future where prosperity and democracy will flourish.
The original lyrics in Tigrinya written by Shishai Shumendi are available in the description of the music video posted on YouTube. The English translation, done by Amanuel Sahle, appears as subtitles in the video (see below picture with both versions).
The following people collaborated to develop and produce this song and its associated music video: Temesghen Yared (singer and musician), Shishai Shumendi (songwriter), Girmadawit Haileslasea (melody and music arrangements from Kima Studio), Nahom Debesay (video editor), John Gebre (vocal recording) and Amanuel Sahle (translator). I extend my heartfelt thanks to all of them.

Last but not least, I am very grateful for the contribution of several people who helped cover the costs of producing this song and the accompanying music video.
