Faytinga singing her Kunama song “Numey” Live

It is my great pleasure to share this video of my Kunama song “Numey” recorded Live at the “Soirée Personnalité de la Côte” in Nyon, Switzerland, on 11 February 2016. “Numey” was first published in 2000 as part of my first album also titled “Numey” (© Cobalt)

Numey means literally here “Do not interrupt the teller”. This song is adapted from the traditional style of any important celebration. The introduction a capella is an epic poem “Kawena” which refers to an old famous battle and celebrates the heroism of the combatants. One should not interrupt the teller who knows better than you. Following is a celebration for the glory of the ancestors whom the singer sees coming through the hills to participate at the feast (from “Numey” CD booklet, © Cobalt, 2000)

  2. Hey I know this is off topic but I was wondering if you knew of any widgets I could add
to my blog that automatically tweet my newest twitter updates.
I’ve been looking for a plug-in like this for quite some time and was
hoping maybe you would have some experience with something like
this. Please let me know if you run into anything. I truly enjoy reading your blog and
I look forward to your new updates. http://dwn.linksind.net/?S*51580

  4. I’m amazed, I must say. Rarely do I come across a blog that’s both educative and amusing, and let me tell you, you’ve hit the nail
on the head. The issue is something not enough men and women are speaking intelligently about.
I am very happy that I came across this in my search for something concerning
    this. http://coqulousbrainboost.net/
